Mables Angels Spring Yard Sale
March 28th, 2026
The recent charity yard sale hosted by Mables Angels Development Foundation was a heartfelt success, bringing together members of the Riverside community in support of a meaningful cause. Neighbors showed up with generosity and purpose, browsing a thoughtfully curated collection of unique items while contributing to a mission rooted in compassion and service. Many of the items available carried special significance, as they were part of our dear friend Bob’s personal belongings that he was unable to take with him on his journey. Every purchase made during the event supported our ongoing work with veterans, seniors, and vulnerable adults, while also giving new life and purpose to items that held meaning.
More than a successful fundraiser, the yard sale marked a deeply meaningful milestone. It symbolized the closing of a chapter for Bob, whose journey we were honored to support. Through the collective efforts of this event, we were able to help him return home to Wisconsin in time for the holidays, where he can be surrounded by familiarity, care, and dignity. What once felt like an uncertain path has now become a hopeful transition, and we are grateful to have played a part in ensuring that he does not have to face the remainder of his life in isolation or hardship.
Mables Angels:
This Is What Impact Looks Like
March 18th, 2026
In the first quarter of 2026, Mables Angels Development Foundation continued to stand in the gap where compassion meets urgent need, transforming moments of uncertainty into pathways of stability and hope. This project is a powerful reflection of what happens when community, intention, and care come together at exactly the right time.
Through swift intervention and meaningful support, our team worked alongside a woman who was at risk of losing her housing. Rather than allowing her to fall into crisis, we helped create an opportunity that not only stabilized her situation, but extended that stability to someone else in need. By preparing her home and supporting her transition, she was able to open her doors to a senior woman who had been experiencing homelessness. What could have been two separate stories of hardship became a shared story of restoration. In that single act, two lives were impacted, two women remained housed, and a sense of dignity and security was preserved.
This is the heart of Mables Angels. We do not simply respond to need; we look for ways to multiply impact, ensuring that one solution can uplift more than one life.
At the same time, our work extended to another woman who had recently overcome homelessness and secured her own apartment. While obtaining housing is a critical milestone, we understand that a home is more than four walls. It is comfort, safety, and the ability to rest and rebuild. Through a meaningful partnership with a local thrift store, our team coordinated the delivery of essential furniture, transforming an empty space into a place she could truly call home. Each piece delivered represented more than function. It symbolized care, belonging, and a fresh start.
These moments captured in the photos are more than acts of service. They are stories of resilience, collaboration, and the quiet yet powerful ways lives can change when people are seen, supported, and valued. From preventing homelessness to restoring dignity after it has occurred, Mables Angels remains committed to walking alongside those we serve every step of the way.
This is impact. This is community. This is what it means to turn compassion into action.

Home for the Holidays
MABLES ANGELS DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION

Mables Angels Grants
Christmas Wish
December 8th, 2025

When Bob shared that his greatest wish was to spend the holidays with family rather than alone, it became clear that making this possible would require careful planning, coordination, and sustained support. The responsibility for guiding this transition was carried by Mables Angels.
Under the leadership of Joyce Reynolds, Founder and CEO, Mables Angels approached Bob’s situation with compassion and attention to detail. Tamara Ward, Kerry Mahoney, Danny Lechuga, Steve Williams, and Karen Briggs each played instrumental roles, working collaboratively to ensure that every aspect of Bob’s transition was thoughtfully addressed. Together, the team demonstrated a strong commitment to person-centered care that extended well beyond basic logistics.
Bob in his home in Montclair, California
Bob had been living alone in his trailer in Montclair, California for many years. Preparing for his move required addressing both practical and emotional considerations. The Mables Angels team assisted Bob with packing his belongings, organizing and shipping boxes, and selling personal items. Throughout the process, care was taken to ensure that Bob felt supported, respected, and included in decisions about his possessions and next steps.
In addition to preparing Bob’s home, the team helped him navigate essential administrative tasks. They accompanied him to the Department of Motor Vehicles to obtain the appropriate travel identification needed to drive and fly. Mables Angels also coordinated all aspects of Bob’s travel, including booking flights, planning logistics, and ensuring he arrived safely at his cousin’s home in Wisconsin after a long and demanding travel day.

Diane Alford of Rolling Start provided critical support by assisting with travel arrangements, helping make Bob’s journey home possible. Her involvement played an important role in ensuring that transportation needs were addressed with care and reliability.
Tamara Ward, a dedicated community member and Mables Angels volunteer, provided on-the-ground leadership throughout the transition, guiding day-to-day efforts and supporting the overall plan. She managed logistics, delivered hands-on assistance, and helped ensure each step of the process moved forward smoothly and in alignment with Bob’s needs.
As Bob’s departure approached, the team focused on helping him feel prepared and confident. They supported him with grooming and personal care so that he could begin this new chapter with dignity and reassurance. These efforts reflected the organization’s holistic approach to service and its commitment to addressing both practical needs and personal well-being.
Throughout the entire process, Mables Angels carried the responsibility of anticipating challenges, managing details, and ensuring continuity of care. Their thoughtful coordination allowed Bob to move forward without having to navigate the transition alone.

On December 8, Bob boarded his flight to Wisconsin, where he would spend the holidays with family for the first time in decades.
For Bob, being home for the holidays marked more than a meaningful milestone. It reflected the impact of coordinated, person-centered care and the beginning of a more stable and supported chapter of life.
This time, the holidays did not pass him by. They welcomed him home.
